MISSION IMPACT
We’re on a social impact mission to reduce the tech skills gap and increase diversity and inclusion in tech through education, awareness and accessibility initiatives.
Our vision is to leave no one behind. We do this by investing in the following social impact initiatives that will unlock future tech talent in New Zealand. Here’s how we are making an impact in 2023
1. Mission Technius:
- IMPACT: Unlocking the tech talent potential within schools
- HOW? Over the last year Mission Ready has been developing a prototype space exploration tool designed to help future talent discover their superpowers and unlock their future tech talent. We expect to launch the game in 2023.
2. INSPIRE SCHOLARSHIPS (worth $150,000)
- IMPACT: Unlocking indigenous tech talent potential in New Zealand
- HOW? 60 fully funded Full Stack Developer scholarships are available to those who meet the below criteria:
– Must enroll in our Full Stack Developer pathway
– Aged 16 years to 40 years
– A NZ Citizen /Permanent Resident/Resident Visa
– Of NZ Māori or Polynesian descent
– Be willing to do whatever it takes to land a great job in tech
– Be able to participate in any pre-arranged activities through Mission Ready and/ or TSI (The Southern Initiative)

3. RISE HIGH SCHOLARSHIPS (worth $150,000)
- IMPACT: Unlocking disadvantaged (parent returning to work, low-income family history, financial hardship circumstances) tech talent potential in New Zealand
- HOW? 74 scholarships are available across all our programmes to those who meet the below criteria:
– You are a New Zealand resident or citizen
– You are not currently employed in Tech industry
– You are facing financial hardship
– You do not have a full-time job at the time of application or were recently made redundant
– You are actively working towards gaining employment in Tech
Requirements:
The Scholarship is always subject to you:
– Completing the Programme (unless you accept a job offer in a relevant tech role prior to completion, in which case Mission Ready HQ may agree that you do not need to complete the Programme)
– Complying with the code of conduct of MRHQ, and Maintaining the required performance for each mission assigned during the Programme as well as receiving final sign-off on completion of the final mission
NB: In the event that you do not complete the Programme the entire scholarship is forfeited unless special consideration is afforded by Mission Ready HQ.

4. SPONSORED SCHOLARSHIPS (worth $35,000)
- IMPACT PARTNER: Thanks to our partners Datacom and Google we have unlocked a further 14 scholarships to support future talent through our give back programme. These additional scholarships are available to those who meet the eligibility criteria for the Rise High Scholarship or Impact scholarship.
- All scholarships and grants are managed through our charitable organisation - Mission Impact Foundation.
5. PAY IT FORWARD GRANTS - OUR GIVE BACK PROGRAMME

Thanks to our past and future scholarship recipients we will be unlocking further scholarships through our give back programme where those who successfully land a role in tech will become a future sponsor. These additional scholarships are available to those who meet the eligibility criteria for the Rise High Scholarship or Impact scholarship.
